FAQs
Can't my RV or Truck salesman help me figure this out?
Unfortounatly… no. Let’s assume you have a good salesman, one who actually cares about safe towing and not just his comission.
He is responsible for selling hundreds of RVs and/or trucks.
Most of the ratings you need to know come from your truck.
A truck salesman is not going to have memorized the weight ratings for every truck in inventory in his lot – especially because these ratings change every year with the latest year/make/model.
It’s even less realistic to expect an RV salesman to know your specific trucks stats when he doesn’t even sell trucks!
Your typical salesman is not going to sit down, look up the numbers you need in your towing guide and off your RV and do the math for you. That’s not his job.
Plus even if he did, you can still create an unsafe towing situation by how you load cargo into your RV and truck. Even the best of the best salesman isn’t going to ride with you to get your RV weighed post-purchase before your first camping trip.
A good salesman can give you an educated ballpark, but will tell you that you still need to do the math.
A bad salesman will reassure you that “you can for sure tow this RV” in order to make a sale at your expense.
Can't I learn this information online for free?
Unfortunatelly the internet if full of a lot of misinformation on safe towing.
The answer “can I tow this” is a complicated math problem based on your specific truck and RV. The internet is not great with complicated math and individualized information. That’s why I created this course – to try and make the process easier – because safe towing saves lives.
Who is this course for?
If you are shopping or own a towable RV (ie – 5th wheel, travel trailer, pop-up camper, anything you need another vehicle to pull) then this course is for you.
What if I've already bought a truck or RV?
I teach two methods in this course.
Truck First Method: You’ve already own or have just bought a truck. Now you need to figure out what RVs you can (and cannot tow) with your truck.
RV First Method: You have selected your dream RV. Now you need to find a truck that is strong enough to safely tow it.
If you’ve already bought both the truck and RV, I would still recomend this course to confirm that-
#1 – Your truck/RV combo is safe. Physics doesn’t care about buyers remorse and you don’t want to risk your life because you feel stuck with your current truck/RV combo.
#2 – To confirm that you’re loading your RV safely.
Your truck might be strong enough for your RV on paper, but the way you’re using the truck and RV and loading cargo into is actually created an unsafe sitauation.
I'm going to tow with an SUV. Will this course work for me?
Yes. I use the word “truck” because “tow vechicle” is a mouthfull and most people tow with a truck.
But trucks are not the only vechicles that can tow an RV. This course will work for any vehicle that’s strong enough to tow something.
